Its used to convert the outlet on a refillable gas cylinder with a factory fitted butane style / Male 21.8mm LH fitting thread on it to male UK POL fittings - Commonly used for fitting UK propane regulators to cylinders with 21.8mm LH fittings which are fitted on some UK butane cylinders and various cylinders elsewhere in the world.
