Every GAS IT Refillable gas tank is packed full of many unique safety features specific to us here at GAS IT so please don't assume all red vapour tanks or all vapour tanks sold in the UK are the same or even legal.   Here at GAS IT we specify our own high quality valves and equipment.

Firstly our GAS IT tanks are made of the highest quality steel and external coatings and comply with the current EU and UK regulations and comes from the well proven tank manufacturers in Europe.

We only source and fit the best European  top quality safety valves, again all marked and complying with all EC and UK regulations.  All our GAS IT horizontal tanks are fitted with our own choice of 4 separate valves, covered by a high quality aluminium housing.

1)  The gas inlet valve known as a 80% shut off valve, is there so when the tank is filled to 80% full this valve shuts off every single time.  Should the fill pipe be disconnected or be damaged there is also a non return valve fitted inside our 80% shut off valve which automatically stops any release of gas.

2)  We then have a separate level indicator float which shows the gas level inside the tank on the external level indicator.  We can supply a separate sender unit which then displays the level on a remote LED gauge, both items bought separately.  Please note these floats and senders are not calibrated units so they are a level indication only.

3) PRV, this is the pressure release valve.  Should the pressure in the tank expand to 27 bar ( 378 psi) the valve will open and release the pressure iin a very controlled manner.  This will never release under any normal operation circumstances.

4) Our gas outlet is of top notch quality and comes in electric remote operation or Manual operation.

It manually operated unit is turned to control the flow on or off of the gas vapour. In this manual tap there is also a high quality automatic shut off valve so should any pipe or regulator on the tank leak or come off,the tank will automatically control the leak - every time!  We also specify different outlet flow rates depending which market they are being used with so for example a leisure gas system will be different to the flow needed b the road repair industry.  The bottom line is we can offer full products developed to your needs.

Our Electronic Outlet tank valves operate at full tank pressure nad shut the tank supply off at source when not energised and by the flick of a switch the electric 12 volt valve will open to allow the gas to release. This electric tank outlet valve is also fitted with an EFV.

So as you can see our valves are not just valves!

Inside our GAS IT tanks we also have extra safety devices in the form of Liquid Phase Separators© and Labyrinth Retractors.  Inside the tank on the vapour out there is a large Liquid Phase Separator© snorkel which is capped off with a special shaped labyrinth that is designed to limits the amount of liquid that can escape down it from the tank. The 22mm diameter Liquid Phase separator has been designed to be wide to limit the amount of horrible, oily condensates leaving the tank and damaging the regulator and gas appliances in your vehicle. It is known that narrow pickup pipes, as seen in multivalve single hole tanks does not have the specially designed wide pickup pipes and the condensate, which is in any tank with a tube in it, will be pushed up to your regulator and damage them. That point , plus a few others, is why GAS IT does not sell single hole multivalve tanks for vapour applications as they are not fit for purpose in our experience. We have done extensive driving tests to make sure that you never experienced any liquid from leaving the gas tank and even our upright Red GAS IT Plus 4 hole bottles have Liquid Phase Separators built in.

Please see the pictures of the inside of the tank to see these built in Liquid Phase Separators© that is 22mm wide.  If you want clarification on what condensate is please speak to our technical team or any regulator and pigtail manufacturer
